What's it like to work in museum social media & marketing?

This was the question a panel I took part in sought to answer, in one of the sessions at the Fair Museum Jobs Careers Summit in November 2020. The panel was chaired by Louise McAward-White, Collections Systems Specialist at British Film Institute and Committee Member, Fair Museum Jobs, and also comprised:

  • Georgina Brooke, Digital Media Content Manager, National Museums Scotland

  • Marta Peinador, Social media assistant, AVICOM ICOM. Community Manager, REMED (Spanish network for museums and digital strategies)

  • Rebecca Morris-Buck, Communications and Programmes Manager, Creswell Crags.

We covered routes in, highlights and challenges, whether you need a degree and much more.

This recording has now gone live, so if you’re interested in a career in marketing, social media, PR/comms in museums have a watch.
