Training
I run in-person and online training on a range of topics relating to marketing and audience development.
My training aims to build in-house expertise and empower teams, by equipping them with knowledge, skills, confidence and inspiration.
Topics related to marketing and audience development, for example developing strategy, marketing on a budget, engaging audiences, undertaking consultation, executing campaigns and evaluation.
Training sessions are interactive and can include frameworks, templates, tools, best practice examples and inspiration, and handouts.
I’m currently delivering training online through clients’ choice of video software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
I have achieved the Advanced Train the Trainer award from the College of Public Speaking, certified by ILM and NCFE.
“I've found working with Christina a complete pleasure. She developed and delivered some online training for us on Strategic Marketing and Audience Engagement. The content of the training hit the brief and it was current, relevant and found to be really useful. The process of working together was smooth, with Christina always quick to respond and deliver. Hopefully we'll be working together again soon.”
Lucy Jamieson, head of programme, Arts Marketing Association
Arts Marketing Association
I’ve run a range of online training webinars and workshops for the Arts Marketing Association. Topics have included strategic marketing planning, re-engaging with your audiences and digitally excluded audiences.
Webinar presentations have been to over 100 people, whilst the workshops have been for 15-30 participants and included a range of exercises.
SHARE Museums East
I have developed and delivered three marketing and audience development projects involving multiple museums across the East of England on behalf of SHARE Museums East.
These have involved training museums in collecting, analysing and using visitor data, creating audience development plans and developing marketing strategies.
I have also run a range of in-person and online training for SHARE on topics including museum brands, visitor leaflets, and marketing and communications as we open up after lockdown and for those venues staying closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We have used Christina for audience development training. She is great at working with museum staff and volunteers of all ages and skill levels – they respond well to her, and she really listens to them in turn. […] Christina has worked with SHARE since 2014. She is a joy to work with – she listens carefully, is happy to suggest changes that will improve our brief, and is creative in her approach. Her work is marked by a very high level of accuracy and care. She has excellent organisational skills and works very effectively with partners and third party contractors. I would not hesitate to recommend her.”
Jamie Everitt, Regional Museums Development Manager, SHARE Museums East
South East Museum Development Programme
I ran a non-user consultation project for Hampshire Solent Museums, providing training workshops and mentoring to the participating museums: I worked with Jane Austen’s House Museum, St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery, Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum and Fordingbridge Museum.
I also developed a best practice guide for undertaking non-user consultation, with case studies from the project.
The Association of Independent Museums (AIM)
I’ve run a series of online sessions as part of AIM’s Hallmarks at Home programme during the Covid-19 pandemic.
These have looked at marketing and communication as museums re-open and keeping audiences who can’t return engaged.
The sessions have involved a presentation to a group of participants from museums from across the country, facilitating a discussion with them and providing follow-up resources.
