Museum Freelance survey results out

Sector presentation FINAL 17.10.2020-page-009.jpg

After almost a year’s work, I’m over the moon that Museum Freelance co-director Marge Ainsley and I have released the findings of our big survey into freelancers and freelancing with museums, galleries, heritage sites, archives and libraries.

With 314 respondents, it’s a robust survey that covers a huge range of themes including the demographics of freelancers; their day rates; their challenges; whether they feel valued and supported; and our recommendations and next steps as a result.

The findings will be of value to both freelancers and organisations that commission and fund them.

You can check out the survey report, watch a 40-minute recording of a presentation we gave to freelancers about it and read our news release.
