Exploring the meaning of 'home'

I'm delighted to be working with Ensemble Dance Co again, after our work together on Still in the City last year.

This year's project involves working with dancer and dance-maker Hayley Matthews on Home Solo, a contemporary dance solo with live music which explores what it is and how it feels to be at home in your own skin. The performance will be an intimate, close-up journey of contemporary dance, guitar and song.

The show integrates voices of local community members from a range of backgrounds and ages on what it means to feel at home for them and unravels into dance, song, percussion and guitar.

I'll be working with Hayley to encourage participation in outreach events, a focus group, for people to act as ambassadors for the project and to attend the national premiere of the piece at Norwich Arts Centre in November.

I'm excited by the challenge and opportunity to work to showcase the company's work, build a greater audience for Ensemble and for contemporary dance in Norfolk.

The project is funded by Arts Council England.www.ensembledance.org
